If you have some leftover pallets in your house, do not throw them away instead use them wisely to make something fun. I have always wanted a swing in my backyard where I can sit in the evening with my husband and enjoy the tea together. So instead of buying an expensive one from the market, I thought to build one by my own with the diy pallets. It may consume some time but when you are done you would love it.
How to make a pallet swing
- Cut down the pallets
- Attach the support for the back of the swing. You do not need separate pallet slabs but the pallet boards would do all the work for you easily.
- Attach them by drilling holes and screwing them tightly.
- Now since the swing will be hanging, attach the hooks for the chain through which you will be hanging the pallet swing in your backyard.
- Sandpaper it and paint it any color you would like. You can either hang it on a tree if you have one in your backyard, or with the rod to keep it strong.
To make the DIY pallet swing comfortable for yourself you can put cushions on it to sit and for the back support as well. It did not cost me more then $50 to make this swing and that was too because of the paint and other hardware stuff. You can also try this at home without any hassle by following the guidelines or you might not even need the guidelines because it is very simple to make.
I love my diy pallet swing and it is a great feeling to sit on the swing which you have made it yourself. If you have nothing to do on the weekend, then get your hands somewhere in creativity which will make you glad once you are done with it.
